Accidental: Shooting
Marshal Silas E. Clark died from an accidental gunshot wound.
In the evening hours of November 18, Marshal Clark and two deputies were preparing to leave for a patrol of the train station when one of the deputies accidentally discharged his pistol. The bullet struck Marshal Clark in the stomach. Following an operation in Salt Lake City, he succumbed to his wound four days later. Marshal Clark was married and the father of nine children. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Springville.
