Why do you have the ride on a Sunday every year? Some of us would like to attend this but don’t ride on Sundays.
Our last ride procession was at least three miles long. We passed major intersections that were shut down by law enforcement to protect the riders and it would have caused a tremendous and frustrating backup for those who’d needed to get to a specific place if we were to have the ride on Saturdays. This ride is such a heart-warming experience for everyone involved, and especially the families of the fallen officers, that taking one Sunday in the year to ride would probably not be detriment to your beliefs. We do welcome those who will not ride on a motorcycle to participate in their cars, if that is a better solution. If you have ever been part of the ride, you know what a wonderful event it is – in honor of our Fallen Officers and their families.
I have been on every ride. What a great outing for a very special purpose. Sundays are great and I appreciate the pre-registration. THX again for all your efforts! When are you getting a BEER license at MARLEY’s?
I did my first ride last year and it was great. A stright shot to the capital. I think I was the only one not on a Harley I was on an orange KTM EXC-R 450, but thats ok because it has 2 wheels and thats what counts.
Yes, two wheels count, but so do three or four wheels. I was told I am better off with four wheels under my butt, so I will be riding in my convertible. See you all again this year. And if you want to win a Harley, buy a ticket. You don’t have to be present to win it, but we’d love to see all of you for the ride. Let’s make it a four or five mile procession this year.
I was wondering if you have to be 18 to ride? I’m 16 and was looking at this for my first group ride. I’ve got about 2000 miles. I figured that this looks pretty laid back, nothing too structured or intense for my first go. What do you think?
I’m not riding a Harley either. I’m on a Ninja, and don’t want to be shunned or beaten up or anything ;).
As long as you have a valid motorcycle license and know the ins and outs of riding in a procession, you are welcome to join us. It’s a wonderful ride.
Is there a map of the ride somewhere?
so is this a harley only ride? or are all brands welcome?
Rock: I ride a Honda sport bike, I’ve attended this ride for the last 3 years. No one has ever made a negative comment about my bike. It is VERY cruiser heavy though, but even the cruisers are in all types of makes and models. Everyone is there for a good cause and everyone is welcome.
Lisa: In the years past they have posted the route here as it gets closer. It’s changed each year for the last three years that I’ve attended. It has always started at Timp and then taken State up to the Capital. It’s the between timp and state that has changed.
Yes, any bike or car is welcome. So hopefully we’ll see all of you at Timp Harley and then on to the State Capitol. If the route has not been posted yet, it will be as follows:

Hey, just to let you all know, there is a block of rooms with a special Harley discount rate at the Orem TownePlace Suites Marriott that is across the freeway from Timp Harley. The rate is $75 and includes breakfast!
Is there any place to set up a booth for sales? Leathers,Shirts etc? I would proudly donate a portion of my profits…
I would also like to know if there’s anywhere to set up a booth for sales? I would donate as well.
This is one of the rides we look forward to every year. As a family we have participated the last three years (2,3,or 4 Harleys dependant on who is available) and I am sure no one cares what you ride or how you look, if it is 2, 3, or 4 wheels. I sure all that is important is that you come to show support, honor and respect for those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Steven: All the Harley riders I know are great people and I am sure will welcome you and be willing to help you any way we can.
To save you time for talking, browsing around and having breakfast at Marleys, why don’t you all pre-register for the ride. Also, don’t forget the Harley Timpanogos Harley is donating which some lucky person will win on the 21st. T-shirts and patches will also be available. For registration you’ll receive a ride pin, wrist band and free breakfast at Marleys and a chance to have a wonderful time and feel good about supporting a great cause.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at the ride.
ok so i feel like a fool but WHAT is marley,s i,ve been on the ride for the last 3 yrs, and enjoy it thoroughly and support it 100% but i,ve never noticed a marleys, guess i,m to busy looking at the bikes lol
Marley’s is the little restaurant inside of Timp Harley – west end. They have wonderful sliders for lunch and they make the best pancakes with a great syrup for those of us who ride on these special occasions.
Also, those requesting to have a booth at our rides, we support Timp Harley because they are so supportive of our cause, thus we are unable to make provisions for sales booths. We also have to work with the State Capitol where the memorial is located and it is impossible to have merchandise for sale on their property. We appreciate the offer to help us out, but our hands are tied. Thanks so much for asking
This will be my 4th ride. I look forward to it every year. This is such a great honor for me to do this. I ride in honor of my good friend Ron Wood from WJPD who was shot while on foot pursuit.
For those who don’t ride on Sunday I can respect that. But this is for a great cause. Let your conscience be your guide.
So, I purchased over the secure server, but didn’t get an email or any confirmation? I hit “continue” as instructed, it then gook me back to the main page?
Ken, your order did come through for us and you should have received the ride waiver in your e-mail. If not, let us know and I’ll resend the waiver again.
We do recognize that the current system of taking you directly to the front page isn’t the best option after your order. We are working on a new payment processor and will have a better system in place to let you know that your order did successfully complete. We’ll be migrating to that processor over the next couple of weeks.
Brigitte,
My brother in law Mat Henderson has not received his confirmation yet, He said that his credit card had been billed but he has not seen an email of any kind.
Richard, I have sent the confirmation and ride waiver to Mat. Please confirm that he has received them!
My husband has been in Law Enforcement for 30 years. He does not have office hours and is on duty 24/7. Every Fallen Officer had the same schedule. I can give up one Sunday a year to ride in their honor. Even the Lord understands our gratitude for all of our Officers and the life they gave for us.

I submitted my entry a few hours ago and haven’t received confirmation. My card has been charged. Does anybody know who to contact with additional questions.
Thank you, I have now received the info.
Just wanted all of you to know that your pre-registration is not automatically responded to. I do each one of them personally, and yes, I do mess up sometimes. Also, I am not monitoring my computer every minute. If you haven’t received a response to your pre-registration or purchase of Harley tickets by me within 6 to 8 hours, please get in touch with me at upoa@vii.com. I usually respond much sooner than that, though.
And the response to pre-registration has been wonderful. I’ll have to have three or four lines to accommodate all of you. However, it certainly will be faster than trying to run your credit cards at Timp Harley. Thank you all soooooo much!!
Brigitte Dawson
I did the pre-registration last night (8/19) and have not seen anything yet. Thank you
Mark, I was already dreaming of Marley’s great pancakes with that wonderful syrup at 2:30 am when your registration came in. Hopefully you have received acknowledgement and waiver by now. And to all, pre-registration ends at 3:00 PM today so I can do the necessary paperwork to make the lines run smoothly tomorrow morning. See you all there.
Oh, there will be plenty of other lines to help you register tomorrow if you haven’t had time to pre-register. There are lots of T-shirts, patches and other goodies to sell, including more chances at the Harley that will be given away at the State Capitol after the ride. I am excited for that, even though I won’t have a chance of winning it – no ULEM board members are eligible. But as I said before, four wheels under me are better for me. So if you see me in my black convertible Sebring – wave.
I pre-registered and so have a couple friends that came out from california to visit. We are looking forward to the ride.
Sorry, won’t be able to make this one, but everyone ride safe and have fun!
Brigitte,
Today’s 5th Annual Ride for Fallen Officers (www.utahsfallen.org) was GREAT!!! What could be better than riding a motorcycle from Lindon to the State Capital (40 miles) without putting a foot on the ground the whole way and not using I-15, with Dad. Running every Light and Stop sign along the way – THANKS to Utah Police Officers & Fire Fighters along the way!!!
Again Great Ride, Great Charity and Great Organization! 5 Stars!
Pictures of the ride can be viewed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuhogpics
