Accidental: Vehicle Accident
Trooper John R. Winn was killed while constructing a radio tower on Lake Mountain, west of Utah Lake.
Trooper Winn was operating a payloader in a steep switchback area about a mile from the summit when the vehicle slipped out of control, went over an embankment, and overturned. Crushed by the vehicle, Trooper Winn died instantly. Trooper Winn was married and the father of six children. He is buried in Price City Cemetery.
