Officer Jon C. “Kip” Draper

Officer Draper died while conducting a routine check of wildlife traps in Straight Canyon, near Orangeville. When the 40-year-old victim failed to report in, searchers located his body approximately 50 yards from the road. He had collapsed and died from a heart attack while hiking through deep snow. Officer Draper was married and the father of five children. He is buried in Centerville City Cemetery. His bronze name plaque is sponsored by the Utah Conservation Officers Association.

    I knew Kip personally, Kip was a man that always had a smile on his face. He was a great friend to not only my father, but to me as a young boy as well. God bless his wonderful family that he has left behind.
